Enclosed Auto Transport

It might seem obvious to think that the term “enclosed” transport would mean just one thing – yet this is not the case. Enclosed auto transport varies from company to company and knowing exactly what is meant by the term is something that needs to be clarified by any auto transport service provider with whom you are dealing. What you might think is enclosed is not necessarily what the company’s definition of enclosed might be. Let us take a look at some of the various forms of enclosed transport that are currently offered by various companies.

Tarps
The most deceptive form of enclosing vehicles for transport is through the use of a tarp. Once placed on their trailer or pallet, the cars are then covered completely by a tarp that is securely tied down. While the car will be enclosed in the strictest sense of the word, it will not be as protected from the wind or from accident as if it were enclosed in something more solid.

Partial enclosures
The other form of enclosure that is also considered “enclosed” are trucks that are only partially enclosed. So they might have a solid top and bottom but with partially exposed sides. Vehicles placed in such trucks are also considered “enclosed,” but if you are transporting a highly valuable car or rare antique – exposure to any kind of elements during the transportation process is exactly what you want to avoid.

Full enclosures
Full enclosures are just what their name entails – they provide solid mass protection on all sides and it is the kind of protection that you will want to have to protect your valuable vehicles during transportation. Four solid walls, a solid top and bottom will provide the securest form of transport. It will not only protect against the elements, but will provide some kind of security in case of accident.

The other thing to consider when requesting enclosed auto transport for your vehicle is what kind of protection will be offered before and after the transportation process. Are the terminals at which your vehicle will be stored during pick-up and delivery also fully enclosed or are they merely little more than open-air parking lots? If the transport company with which you are dealing does not have a secure terminal to house your vehicle, then you might have to request door-to-door service, which will drive up the cost of your auto transport even more. All of these questions need to be addressed when choosing the enclosed auto transport option for your high-end car or antique vehicle.

If you do have an exotic or valuable car to transport and you are not confident entrusting it to just any transportation company, you can always turn to firms that are specialized in the removal of such vehicles. Although they might charge more for their services, if it means providing the proper kind of protection and security needed for your peace-of-mind, then it will be worth every penny.

We needed to outsource some pre-sales work to a telemarketing company and I dreaded the search process. I knew it could take days to find companies, and then repeat my basic needs to each and every one. Filling out your form and having them come to me was a huge time saver. I hired a company in a week and so far we've been very pleased with the results.
